Yoga Ain’t Just For Ladies: A Brief History

There are a lot of things in this world that are feminine, to the point of being exclusively categorized as associated for women. While many might think that yoga is one, that idea doesn’t hold any water. First, yoga was invented by a man and throughout most of history, men were the main practitioners of yoga. Unfortunately, as yoga transitioned from being an exclusively Eastern art mastered by dedicated male participants, in the West it was heavily marketed as a relaxing, almost easy series of flexibility exercises for women. The sheer thought of a class filled with women posing and stretching has major sexual connotations that don’t carry over well with the opposite sex. For that reason alone, most men wrote off yoga as being something only for women as well as not being a serious sport.

The most ironic part about all this is the fact that yoga had been previously regarded as an exercise that only the most strong and virile of men could be invited to participate in. Simply put, 100 years ago you would not find a room of 100 pound office workers doing yoga, but you would find warriors and athletes sweating it out and defining their physiques. Thankfully, the relatively short period of time that yoga has been geared exclusively towards women is coming to an end. Yoga for men advocates have taken the form of famous athletes and entire male geared exercise programs. Lately, many men have been compelled to at least give yoga a try. All have been surprised to find that they not only enjoy yoga, but notice that their bodies are reaping the rewards of a newly found training program.

Men Who Do Yoga Perform Better In The Bedroom

If you’re like most of us, the last time you tried out that new sex position illustrated in the Kama Sutra ended with a pulled muscle and a bruised ego. Even if you’re in fairly good shape, you can’t compensate flexibility and stamina for eagerness and good intentions.

While a lot of sex is based on physical and mental attraction, no one wants to do the same repetitive routine to the point of boredom. Impressing your lover with a new trick can be just as exciting as a spur of the moment trip out of town; the first being the less expensive of the two. While you probably got over the initial embarrassment, did you ever stop to think about why you weren’t about to perform up to your expectations and how you could fix it?

Yoga for men has long been used as a means to improving sexual performance by both improving confidence and increasing strength, flexibility and endurance.  Don’t shrug off yoga under the assumption that it won’t do squat for your body, unless of course you want an encore performance that mimics the last time you tried to show off in the bedroom.

Specific yoga poses will stretch your muscles in ways you’ve never felt before while yoga breathing techniques will help you to oxygenate your blood for better focus and stamina.

Continued practice will tone up muscles, an added bonus if you are hoping to really wow that special person.

Yoga To Alleviate Stress And Anxiety

Stress is an everyday occurrence, and in moderate amounts, it can be both healthy and beneficial for a balanced life. However, if you find that it has put a choke hold on your every day life, you had better find a way to alleviate it, quickly. Most guys find the stresses of balancing work, school, family obligations and social pressures to be a taxing burden. Of course, it doesn’t always start out that way but over time the expectations of society can mount to the point of an overload. There are literally hundreds if not thousands of ways to instantly release the stresses and anxieties that have filled your head, but most of these methods are short lived and lose effectiveness over time.

Taking up an exercise class that promotes yoga for men is definitely one of the best methods for getting rid of stress and taking back your life. Yoga literally teaches you a new way of thinking by combining rigorous exercise with a calm, clear mental state. There are few other activities that implement these two very different elements in such a seamless fashion. Executing yoga moves will allow you time away from stressful activities, challenge you physically and give you the opportunity to explore yourself spiritually. It doesn’t have to be anything especially deep, but often silence is the time in which people are able to reflect on themselves and discover things about themselves that they never knew before.

If you’re like the millions of people around the world who have an inordinate amount of stress in your life, there is a way out – a way to escape for a few moments every day, a way to heal your mind and strengthen your body allowing the pressures of the world to melt away.

Men Of All Sizes Use Yoga To Get Fit

A lot of men resign themselves to a life of physical inactivity simply because they don’t enjoy the competitive nature of sports, or the judgments they will face in a gym setting. Believe it or not, males can become very intimidated by those they feel have a superior physical appearance, to the point of swearing off even trying to get more fit. In these situations, yoga for men is not only a practical option but a helpful tool for improving self confidence. Another good aspect about yoga is the fact that those who are overweight can easily get involved and work their way towards tackling their weight loss battle.

The only thing required to begin practicing yoga is the drive and determination to do so. Unlike other more vigorous exercise regimens, no weights, external exercise equipment or targeted fitness level is required for yoga. A particular area of note regarding yoga is the fact that you can absolutely get ripped. You will not only get a total body workout, you lessen the chances for physical injuries as well as exercise in an environment that encourages progression at a self set pace. Over time, you will notice a marked change in the appearance of your body along with an increased sense of self worth due to the fact that you have set goals for yourself and followed through.

Best of all, you can accomplish all this in the privacy of your own home!

Fixing Erectile Dysfunction – Yoga as a Natural Impotence Cure

Erectile dysfunction is a devastating sexual problem that makes men depressed, but also upsets their sexual partners.

Erectile dysfunction causes trouble for many men as well as  their partners, but the good news is that, many cases were fixed by practicing yoga.

Yoga works on the body as well as the soul, spirit and the person itself. It does not focus on one area or a specific problem. This approach ensures that the various causes of erectile dysfunction are addressed (even ones we do not know about). With that you have other health benefits that come as an unexpected bonus.

The various postures of yoga offer a simple and natural way to stimulate circulation, many of them being particularly beneficial to the genital area and abdomen. With regular practice of yoga, the flow of blood around the body is improved and more oxygen is given to each cell.

Regular practice of yoga helps to improve levels of energy. Unlike many fitness regimes where there is usually exhaustion at the end of the workout, you actually help yourself to create energy in the body.

Yoga also helps men to develop the awareness of their body. A man may become aware of subtle changes in their body and consciously choose to use yoga techniques to maintain the body’s energy or to direct and maintain blood flow.
The meditative side of yoga helps men to let go much of the mental baggage that they have and bring when making love. For some men, the pressure to “make love” creates physical challenges. Yoga helps people develop self-confidence and inner balance.

Beginning Yoga is not difficult. A surprising number of men practicing yoga already exists. It has become very common for men to attend yoga classes, or even enjoy the comfort of their own home, using a yoga mat or blanket and following the advice of books and DVDs.

The use of pills as the answer to erectile dysfunction can bring with it many undesirable side effects. The good thing about yoga is that side effects are all positive.
